The Delaware Department of Labor connects people to jobs, resources, monetary benefits, workplace protections and labor market information to promote financial independence, workplace justice and a strong economy.

The Department of Labor is headed by a secretary of labor who is appointed by the governor. The department is made up of four main divisions:

Employment & Training


Provide services enabling employers and job seekers to make informed employment and training choices leading to employment.

Unemployment Insurance


The Division of Unemployment Insurance serves workers who are unemployed through no fault of their own by providing temporary income maintenance during their period of unemployment and making referrals to re-employment services.

Industrial Affairs


Foster, promote, and develop the welfare of the wage earners of the state of Delaware, to improve their working conditions, and to advance their opportunities for profitable employment.

Vocational Rehabilitation


We help individuals with disabilities prepare for, obtain, and maintain employment.

Occupational & Labor Market Information


OOLMI is the key source for information about labor market conditions throughout the First State. The office produces reports on the industrial and occupational structure of the labor market including supply-demand analysis and employment projections.
