The H-1B Specialty (Professional) Workers allows an employer to temporarily employ a foreign worker in the U.S. on a nonimmigrant basis in a specialty occupation or as a fashion model of distinguished merit and ability.

H-2A Program

The H-2A Temporary Agricultural Labor Certification establishes a means for agricultural employers who anticipate a shortage of domestic workers to bring nonimmigrant foreign workers to the U.S. to perform agricultural labor or services of a temporary or seasonal nature.

H-2B Program

The H-2B Temporary Nonimmigrant Labor Certification permits employers to hire foreign workers to come to the U.S. and perform temporary nonagricultural work, which may be one-time, seasonal, peak load or intermittent.

Job Order

Job Orders is the posting of jobs in the area of intended employment on an internet system. The Foreign Labor Certification programs require employers to post a job with the State Department of Labor.

PERM Program

Permanent Labor Certification allows an employer to hire a foreign worker to work permanently in the United States. The employer must obtain an approved labor certification request from the DOL’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA).

Prevailing Wage

The Prevailing Wage Rate is defined as the average wage paid to similarly employed workers in the requested occupation in the area of intended employment.
